NETMARES NETDREAMS is an idea instigated and collected through online platforms since late 2007, projected into an alternating background of white or black, set beneath a ghostly, reverberating browser frame with links delineated via a somnolent parade of sibilants: z Z z Z z Z z. They are z links because of the theme - “zzzz” is visual shorthand for a sleeping sound, hence: netdreams. Each page presents a single work by one artist; the total curatorial effect is one of dark confusions, subterranean logic, and primal unease. The resulting pool is a mix of creations, found objects, memorabilia, and documentation from netmare or netdream experiences. It’s from this continually growing pool that material is selected, commissioned, juxtaposed or encouraged.
