ztrend: defined on the website as a guide for those who shop the unusual…so of course it’s a z! but z being curious inquired to ztrend the origin of this z. ztrend had to say:

I chose the name ZTrend because all the other names I wanted were
taken. I can’t even remember what they were now. It was at a time
where dot coms were super popular. I would keep a pad at my bedside
and jot down names that came to mind in the middle of the night.

ZTrend just seemed to fit. One could say that it is “The Trend”/it is
ZTrend. It works for the site even though many people call it ZTrends.
I need to make a strong point there is no “s” at the end. ZTrends are
multiple and ZTrend is one thing. I like ZTrend much better than
ZTrends.

I have lived in New York City for almost 22 years now and have seen
how Manhattan has changed into one big shopping mall. Everything has
lost it’s identity even people these days. I have never seen so many
people want to be like everyone else. I love artists and
individualists. Open hearted people who aren’t out there just for
themselves. On ZTrend I refuse to advertise for the “Big Ones”. I have
wonderful tastes and an eye for beauty. This is why I started ZTrend.
I have so many ideas to help small businesses and artists. Everything
on ZTrend must be a win-win-win situation or I won’t do it. Businesses
can make it and do good for other people. Too many people think a
business has to be greedy to be successful. I will never bow to greed.
I have many great ideas that ZTrend will share with the world to be a
better place. I love the stores I support and will do all that I can
to be their voice.

This year I will be adding columnists to ZTrend. I have begun to work
with an active community of young writers who are looking to launch
their careers. I give them a place to be seen. I may soon expand to
videographers and photographers. ZTrend will be a very exciting place
some day.
