zobnoba no snoba

a free internet radio station….the latest source for all the weirdest shit…bringing you music to destroy hearing…what other letter than Z?!

Z Radio is about one thing, playing a variety of music that you could never hear anywhere else, or would most likely never hear anywhere else. We play independent, experimental music from all over the world by primarily “unsigned” artists. All access to the show is free.

z story:

Z Radio began on a miserable January evening in 2006. One man was on the mic and the music he had was garbage, but since then we have grown to three men on the mic playing garbage and a whole lot of underground, DIY, Noisy, and garage music. We strive to broadcast/record two live shows for our podcast every week, Mondays and Thursdays. There are times when we are blessed with special in “studio” (basement) performances. We’ve had well over 30 Z Radio performances and we’re not about to stop. We attend shows and record them so people who might never make it to Philly can hear what a miserable philly noise show is like. It’s a wonderful thing.

We have contributors from all over the world and we encourage all to pick something up and record a tune. It might get played on Z Radio one day. We basically say “If you could be played on any major media outlet we can’t help” So if you are an artist or band that is down with the DIY, Jam Econo way of life, then please feel free to contact us to contribute.

interested, z contacted z radio and jonny, the founder, was generous to fill in z details:

The name z radio stands for zobnoba radio, zobnoba is a nonsense word I made up to call the record label I made up for personal releases. Initially z radio started with only my personal recordings in my basement. I got two friends to join in to make it like a radio show and it then grew to now be primarily underground and DIY artists from around the world. It’s fun.

I like zombies which is why I started with z, and sometimes I just make up stupid words that mean nothing. It popped out, I laughed and wrote it down.

and there are many more wonderful z’s to explore in z radio’s eclectic mix of z musicians ranging from Zack Kouns to Zombie Surf Camp and Zapo Plextor to Zooplastic Noise Breed

more z’s cutting things up and just plain fun!
thankz jonny!
